Eze lauds Amaechi, Umahi, Onu, others for their roles in Father In-law’s final journey home

.... Appreciates Amaechi's assurance on linking Owerri to Railway, fixing Umaku-Ntu's road

... Describes late Pa Nwaorgu as embodiment of honesty, humility and one of the pioneers of education advancement in Imo State

The sleepy town of Ntu in Ngor Okpala Local Government Area of Imo state went agog, Saturday 27 November, 2020 as
people from all walks of life, crème de la crème of society and the friends and  associates of the erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, converged in the ancient community to bid farewell to his beloved in law, Pa Paulinus Nkemjika Nwaorgu, a father of nine, revered patriarch, retired teacher and one of the foremost students of Christ the King College (CKC), Onitsha, who died on the 3rd day of March, 2020, at the ripe age of 94.

The elaborate burial ceremony which held at Nwaorgu's compound in Ntu Community came to its peak after the funeral service at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Umuodagu Ntu, where the congregation took time, as is customary, to pay their last respects to the departed, with the admonition to always live life with the consciousness that someday, the living will account to his maker on answering the inevitable call to the great beyond.

Speaking at the funeral, the deceased first son, Prof. OGB Nwaorgu, appealed to the government of Imo State to give a thought to the deplorable state of the road linking Ntu to Umajaku which he described as one of the worst in the country, notwithstanding the very close proximity of the community to Owerri, the state capital. The renowned academic, a Professor of Otorhinolaryngology, also made a case for the electrification and provision of portable water for members of the community whom he said have suffered years of neglect from government at all levels.

Prof. Onyekwere George Benjamin Nwaorgu went further to thank their guests for finding time to identify with the family, as they were honouring their late father as well as celebrating his 95th birthday post luminously, described his late father as a great man, a disciplinarian and an educationist, who carried everybody along while alive.

He stated that his late father played well by not leaving issues hanging, as he trained all his children well and ensured that they engaged in meaningful ventures for the sake of survival. He however thanked God for his life and the way he related with people.

Sympathetically reacting to the plea, former Rivers Governor and Nigeria's Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, assured that the Ntu/Umjaku road will be given priority by 2021.

Ably represented by a party stalwart, High Chief Emeka Beke and others, the Transportation Minister said the road will be reconstructed by the new Management Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) expected to be constituted by President Mohammadu Buhari by first quarter of 2021.

Also speaking, Technical Assistant (TA) to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Lady Monica Chidinma Ada Eze (aka) Ada Ebonyi, told the community that the concerns raised will be channeled to the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma through her boss, Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State while giving an ironclad assurance that the community will soon hive a sigh of relief.

Meanwhile, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, married to the deceased first daughter, Evang. Henrietta Chioma Ada Eze, presented a cow, drinks, tubbers of yam, Rice, etcetera, to the community. The APC chieftain also gifted dozens of football jersey, balls, undisclosed sum etc., to the community youth in honour of Late Pa Nwaorgu, whom he described as a lover and pillar of sports in Ntu community and Imo State in general.

Other in-laws; Prof. Innocent Agu, Engr. Collins Maduforo Agharanya and Mr. R. Nkwocha and their spouses, families, friends and associates were also at hand make presentations and bid farewell to the Late Sage.

According to a first-hand account presented by Chief Theophilus Amadi and Sir Nwosu, the Late Pa Nwaorgu pioneered education advancement within his community as he was the first to gain admission into a secondary school and it took another ten years thereafter to have another student to achieve that feat.

He attended the Bishop Shonahan Teachers' Training College, Orlu, in the old Eastern Region (now in Imo State), from 1952 - 1954 after which he was appointed a teacher in the same institution. Available records reveal that Pa Nwaorgu taught many of the past and present political leaders in Imo and Abia States of Nigeria.

The Patriarch retired in 1986, but also taught in several other institutions including Baptist High School, Omuehie, Ngor Okpala, where he served as Dean of Students till 2006.

In 1958, Pa Nwaorgu got married to his wife, Mrs. Celine Adanma Nwauzoma Ekenwachukwu of Umuohie Ngor and the union was blessed with nine children all of whom are left to mourn him.

According to Chief Eze, even in death, Pa Nwaorgu lives on like a deity, a supernatural being with a swelling rank of influence who will remain a symbol of peace and good parenthood, a rallying point for lovers of discipline and sane society and a mortal threat to all negative reactionary forces. He was a custodian of sound societal ethics and norms whose legs were firmly planted in the world of peace and good neighbourliness.

Appreciating his friends, associates and all those who ensured that the funeral turned out a huge success, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, specifically recognized the special contributions and presence of the Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi CON., which significantly added colour and spiced up the ceremony.

Similarly, the party Chief commended the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State, Apostle Dave Umahi; the Hon. 5000 job vacancies: Wike should not discriminate - APC

The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, says the plan by the Wike administration to limit available employment opportunities  in Government establishments to persons within the age bracket of 25 to 35 years smacks of discrimination.

The Spokesman for the APC, Hon. Ogbonna Nwuke said in reaction to a government plan to recruit 5000 workers that the template adopted by Government is unfair and unjust.

"We have taken time to analyze the pronouncement of the Rivers State Government pertaining to the employment of 5000 Rivers youths.

"It is now clear from the position of  the Government that persons who are likely to fill those job vacancies are those within the age bracket of 25 and 35 years.

"The APC has been agitating for job creation opportunities especially for able bodied youths for a long time. While the APC welcomes the eventual decision by Governor Nyesom Wike to respect its persistent demands for the evolution of a system that has a human face, we completely  condemn the  template that is about to be used in employing Rivers people by the State Government.

"This is because the Government's  plan will openly promote discrimination against certain segments of the youth population.

"Youths are youths and they must be treated equally. The bench mark officially recognized by the Nigerian  Constitution in terms of adulthood is 18 years. The implication is that as an 18-year old, a Nigerian is entitled to all rights, including the right to work.

"The Wike plan obviously excludes young graduates who fall within the age bracket of 18 to 24 years as well as those who fall within the age range of 36 and 40 years.

"We believe that the decision to exclude other youthful persons who fall outside the age brackets that Government has chosen is totally unacceptable and should be condemned by the Rivers people.

"It smacks of Government's lack of understanding of the anxiety that  parents are facing, following  the continued stay of their children and wards at home.

"What should matter is their qualification and competence to deliver on the job. Is it the fault of those who are above 35 years that they have found no work to do long after graduation? Why should they become victims of forced-stay-at-home order inspired by a Government ban on employment?

"It is our view that Government should have taken cognisance of the aspiration of all graduates, who for no fault of their own,  have remained at home after going through secondary and tertiary education."

The APC noted that the decision of the government was hasty, faulty and discriminatory.

"For years, many parents have prayed for an opportunity like this. Now, youths who have earned first degrees and other qualifications, and who are not within the age range prescribed by Government are to be wilfully excluded from aspiring to work in Government establishments.

"We urge parents to rise up against this attempt by Government to encourage segregation, particularly among youthful elements who are entitled to every opportunity  that their State can offer.

"Government should not act as if it is doing Rivers people  a favour. It is a duty that it is bound by law to fulfill. In doing so, it has no right to discriminate."

Eze to Wike on IPOB: Propaganda against Amaechi Is Ill-Conceived, Wicked, Sad, Unfortunate & Diabolic

... Reminds Governor Of How He Used Ipob Mob To Win 2015, 2019 Elections

... Says It's Illogical To Claim Same IPOB Which Attacked Amaechi in Foreign Land Now Works For Him

Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze erstwhile National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP and a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC highlighted that nothing has exposed most public officers in Nigeria than the EndSARS protests and riots, and this seems most tragically true with the helmsman in Rivers State, Gov Nyesom Wike. This is especially so because, whereas other Governors have looked before leaping, he seems to leap before looking.

Nothing could have proved this assertion more true than his ban on protests only to gleefully welcome the same protesters to Government House where he glowed in the euphoria of someone who started the End-SARS campaign.

Next, the same man who mocked his kinsman and Minister, Rt Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi for allegedly being mobbed overseas by the same IPOB is now turning round to accuse a Rivers man of sponsoring IPOB. Many have thus wondered if Gov Wike must call his former mentor’s name in every evil flying around Rivers State to such an obviously embarrassing level to himself. This is the same IPOB that stands against anything and everything North; everything Buhari; and everything APC of which Amaechi symbolises.

Thus, Wike’s recent calumnious and odoriferous outburst against the Transportation Minister, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, as the proponent and financier of the topsy-turvy and huge human and material destruction allegedly perpetrated by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been described as a mountain of illusion merely palpitating in the web of debacle.

Governor Wike, had during a live interview on AIT on the fallout of the End SARS protest and the report of mass killings of IPOB members in Oyigbo, a Local Government Area in Rivers State, accused the Transportation Minister of sponsoring the crisis that rocked the #EndSars protest in the troubled LGA and other violence spots in Port Harcourt and other areas in the state, stressing that the Minister is disturbed by his rising political profile.

Excerpt from the reported speech of Gov. Wike on the AIT Program beamed live Monday, 2 November, 2020, reads:  "I know where all this is coming from. They think they can sponsor all sorts of rubbish against me. I know it is coming from the Minister of Transportation. Why will he (Amaechi) not do that? He thinks that I am rising politically, and he is doing everything to bring me down. Everybody knows that. It is not hidden. I cannot change my identity."

Referring to the claim as a cocktaildestitute utterances, the party chief said Gov. Wike may have been deceitfully immersed into a pool of egotistic make-believe by attaching to himself a strange and  exaggerated sense of self-importance in his hilarious comment about his self-deluded 'rising political profile'.

"To where is his political profile rising when his actions and programmes have shattered the economy and general fortunes of the state?" Eze queried.

"I salute his rising political profile which has earned the state the unemployment capital of Nigeria; I thank him for instigating the menace of insecurity and endangering the lives of Rivers people who now sleep with their two eyes widely opened in the midst of his rising political profile;  with Pensioners not receiving their pensions, civil servants begging to be paid their salaries and Rivers youths have been denied  their due and their futures stocked in limbo, yet, Wike brags about his rising political profile. One wonders where his profile is rising to". Eze said.

Eze reiterated that only idle minds will be bored by the said Wike's raising political influence as it only exists in pages of newspapers and AIT TV but not based on current political reality.

The party stalwart posits that although the PDP Leadership has continued to tolerate the excesses of Wike but expressed confidence that he will soon pay for the very many embarrassments and shame he has brought to a party that was once the best political party in Africa.

Eze counselled Gov. Wike to desist from making nonsense of the exalted position of a Governor and show some respects to the office he occupies. He said the Governor could as well strive to acquire some skills in public speech-making so as to improve his performance next time his application to appear on a national TV scales through.

The party chief said it pricks the conscience to learn that Gov. Wike, who once served under Amaechi as Chief of Staff and was later  recommended to be a Minister by Amaechi will make such untoward, wicked and disparaging allegations against his all-time benefactor.

Eze wondered how Amaechi could have anything to do with a proscribed group when in fact, he was a victim of their rampaging madness in 2018.

Eze reminded Wike that Amaechi, an Igbo man by marriage  (married to one of the finest Igbo Ladies, Dame Judith Amaechi) is always entitled to discuss and promote issues pertaining to the future and progress of the Igbos and to be accused of having a hand in any criminal activity of any Igbo man or group is very unfortunate and unacceptable.

Condemning in strong terms the wanton destruction allegedly perpetrated by IPOB miscreants in Oyigbo and other parts of Rivers State, Eze described as unacceptable the attack on other innocent Igbos living in Rivers State and other parts of the country by thugs and some security agents, adding that a majority of the Igbos are peaceful, patriotic and hospital citizens and should not be victims of miscarriage of justice.

Eze called on Wike to resolve any issue he has with IPOB members which are the creations of his insincerity and dishonesty, stressing that Amaechi was not there when he engaged these fellows as part of his 2015 and 2019 election rigging mercenaries. He said the powers Gov. Wike handed the IPOB members during elections gave them the impetus to operate recklessly and his refusal to keep to terms of their agreement gave rise to their uncontrolled operation.

Igbo traders at the Mile One and Ikoku spare parts markets are today under siege by Wike who has suddenly feigned ignorance of how he dubiously instigated them against the APC to win election. Today, Messiah 'Wike' is doing everything to ensure that their businesses in Rivers have collapsed. Wike is systematically doing this through many fronts.

Governor Wike should try  to leave Amaechi out of his self-inflicted and avoidable political woes as I end this statement with a quote from one of the most respected sons of Rivers State, Dr Jackson Omenazu who stated and I quote, "Wike is a loose cannon. Amaechi uses good governance and leadership to promote peace among Rivers people.  But Wike uses bullying and crass brigandage to ascend to power hence his restlessness.  Amaechi has never been known to associate with violent people nor have he ever supported demented souls.  We know ourselves in this state, we know those whose life style is synonymous with violence"

Young Fashion Designer - Goodnews Emerges Winner of Princewill ‘Hard Worker’ Award

After one of the most keenly contested months, a fashion designer, Goodnews Joshua, has emerged winner of the monthly Princewill Trust Help the Hard worker competition. The monthly competition is put together by the hard working team of the Princewills Trust

A Rivers State based young and upcoming fashion designer, Goodnews emerged the winner of the October, 2020 edition, after a well contested competition, beating both Amiczy Magnus and Tonye Alagaladen to win the N100,000 cash prize.

A statement from Princewills Trust quoted Prince Tonye Princewill, who presented the cash award on behalf of his Trust, as saying the aim of the Trust was simply to encourage hard workers and move away from the mindset of entitlement. He called on the winner to make judicious use of the money and “give others like him, the inspiration to do well, work hard and upgrade their business too.”

The “Help the Hard worker” monthly competition is organised by a non-governmental organisation, The Princewill’s Trust for entrepreneurs, youths and Rivers state residents engaged in micro business ventures and all forms of hard work in Rivers State.

The winner said he was in need of funds to upgrade his fashion world adventure, but was helpless, adding that it had always been his honest wish and desire to work hard to succeed in life. He called on Youths in the state to be creative and also to engage in productive activities. He advised them to shun violence in the name of #EndSars and focus on more creative ideas and hard work towards realizing their own dreams of how to be successful in life. Hard eventually pays. He equally thanked the Princewills Trust for giving him and others a wonderful opportunity in Rivers State.  Finally, he pleaded with others in a position to help, to do the same and to also give back to the society, whenever possible, unlike some who are now hiding the palliatives that rightfully belong to the masses and citizens of Nigeria.
