Plot to Eliminate Rivers APC Chieftains Exposed –APC alleges
…. fingers PDP, cries to IGP for help

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has sent a Save Our Souls (SOS) message to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, following the uncovering of a plot by the State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to embark upon the killing of some selected leaders of Rivers APC by Friday, 5th February, 2016.

“Credible information available to us indicate that the ruling party in the State is contemplating eliminating APC leaders in the State before the rerun elections into the National and State Assemblies so as to make the coast easy for PDP during the said rerun elections. Our informants have warned us to be on our guard as Rivers PDP has come to see the recent Supreme Court ruling affirming Chief Nyesome Wike as the duly elected Governor of Rivers State despite the killing of over 100 APC members during the March and April 2015 elections that controversially produced Wike as Governor. This, to Rivers APC leader, has been interpreted to mean that they can kill and install their members into the Senate, House of Representatives and state Assembly and the courts would in the end affirm their election,” Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said in a statement issued Tuesday in Port Harcourt.

Dr. Ikanya declared that “this misrepresentation of the Supreme Court judgment by the PDP henchmen in Rivers State is not only sad but also very unfortunate.” He warned that “further killing of our members by PDP because of election will no longer be acceptable to us,” adding: “We therefore plead with the Inspector General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase, to come to our aid as a matter of urgency by deploying enough members of his men to save us from the hands of these misguided demented fellows that feel that leadership can be obtained only through the shedding of the blood of innocent souls.”

The statement urged Rivers APC supporters “not to be intimidated but to continue with the mobilisation drive as we count on both the security organs and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to provide a level playing ground during the rerun elections.”

The party appealed to the good people of Rivers State to come out en masse to vote for all the APC candidates during the rerun elections in order to avenge the blood of their brothers killed by PDP monsters during last year’s polls.
