Olejeme is our choice, say Urhobo leaders

Eminent personalities from Urhobo on Thursday spoke at length about the need for transparent leadership in the state in 2015. They also vowed to see to it that only those who are morally competent occupy positions in the state.
“We require a capable governor who will address the core issues of this potentially great state. The person should have the strength of character and charisma to motivate the people, devise appropriate relief policies for the disabled and the elderly, guarantee basic workers’ rights, build infrastructure at the barest cost and create an industrial Delta where everyone who seeks can find employment” the leaders said.
At a meeting convened by Urhobo Leaders of Thought, a group advancing the synergy of Urhobo stakeholders in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area, representatives of all Urhobo associations, traditional institutions, professional bodies and opinion leaders vowed to support Dr. Ngozi Olejeme,
A statement signed by Chief Nicholas Akpomiemie, chairman of Urhobo Leaders of Thought, advised other aspirants, particularly those from Delta South and Delta North not to dissipate any more energy to challenge Olejeme.
“Olejeme will not only win the primaries but at the same time win the 2015 governorship election”
To pick Olejeme, the leaders said experience in government, solid political structure, and track record of achievement, contacts and acceptability within Delta Central and across the state were the qualities which determined the choice.
“Olejeme is a suitable person for the Delta State exalted seat. She is a woman of wisdom, integrity, honesty and vision. She is also a grassroots mobilizer and the only governorship aspirant in the state that has credible structures in the three senatorial districts
They described her as a wonderful philanthropist whose generous hands transcend ethnic or religious barriers.
On the expectations of Deltans, the leaders said “Olejeme will evolve dynamic and progressive programmes which will re-engineer the private sector and accelerate the improvement in infrastructure, industry and agriculture. She will place Delta State on the world map for good” the leaders added.
