The
leaders who made their views known on Sunday described the chairman,
Board of Directors of Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), Dr.
Ngozi Olejeme as an honest, simple and accomplished administrator.
“Dr.
Ngozi Olejeme has the knowledge and the skills to succeed in the state.
So we are mobilizing our people, friends and in- laws across the state.
We are quite confident that she would become governor in 2015” the
leaders said in a statement issued in Warri.
The
statement signed by the Chairman of Itsekiri Movement for Good
Governance (IMFGG), Mr. Francis Diden also commended Olejeme for her
contributions to the development of human resources in the state.
“Olejeme deserves the biggest thanks for developing the people,” the statement said.
Praising
Olejeme for her altruistic and philanthropic disposition, the leaders
said: “We are very impressed about her people-oriented programmes in
Delta State. It is time for Deltans at home and abroad to unite and
support a person who can enhance unity and provide opportunities for
all.”
“We
want her to be the next governor of the state because of her proven
leadership qualities and our belief that she can govern the state very
well” the statement said.
“He
is a woman of principle who takes every word she says seriously. She is
accessible and always ready to listen to all. Her ability to initiate
plans and execute projects that will better the lot of the people is not
in contention” the statement added.
In
a related development, top Okpe leaders on Sunday described the
Majority Leader of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Monday Igbuya as a
blessing to the state, while calling on indigenes and non-indigenes
residing in Sapele Local Government Area to see him as a role model.
Chairman
of Okpe Political Leaders Forum (OPLF), Mr. Darlington Ebireri in a
statement issued in Sapele said the leaders praised Hon. Igbuya for
protecting the people’s rights through quality representation, job
creation and poverty alleviation.
“You
have done us proud. All we can do is to acknowledge and thank you in
our modest way by asking you to continue in Delta State House of
Assembly” the leaders said after a meeting of stakeholders in Okpe
kingdom.
The
leaders who vowed to support Hon Igbuya come 2015 general election,
described his performance in the state assembly as wonderful.
“Igbuya
is a good ambassador of Sapele Local Government Area and his
performance has spoken volume. He has defended the cause of Sapele at
the State Assembly and if given another chance, come 2015, Delta State
in general and Sapele Local Government Area in particular will be great”
the statement said.
“He
will do a lot for the people in terms of legislation that would further
unite Delta State and laws that will attract the desired investment
into this state, laws that would create employment opportunities and
encourage private sector participation in the economy”.
The leaders advised others eyeing the seat to wait till 2019.
We will back him again in 2015 election” the leaders insisted.
