.....Applaudes Tenure Extension and WCO Re- Election
The Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, tenure extension and re- election as chairman of World Customs Organization Council has received deep commendation and Congratulations from the entire members and executive of Business and Maritime Writer's Association of Nigeria ( BUMWAN).
This information was contained in a press statement issued and signed by the National President, Peter Ihejirika and its National Secretary Pastor Tony Nzekwe, and made available to newsmen in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state Capital Friday.
The statement reads in part: "The Comptroller General of Customs, Nigeria Customs Service, Adewale Adeniyi MFR, PhD has proven his mettle and exhibited excellent leadership performance in upholding the tenets, values and stakeholders synergies in the value chain of global trade environment and facilitation, hence his tenure extension is seen by executive and members of our association as a welcome development.”
The statement also averred, "the Customs boss since assumption of office as Chairman of WCO Council has left no stone unturned in building bridges and robust global stakeholders reforms in line with the world treaties and conventions in trade facilitation and sustainable development."
"We at BUMWAN are proud to be associated with you and appreciate your unalloyed commitment and unwavering zeal to Nigeria Customs Service growth and sustainable reforms even as we also use this opportunity to call on all and sundry in the maritime sector to rally round the Nigeria Customs Service to achieve the over 11 trillion Naira 2026 target " the statement concluded.
